Andreas Zacho is a trained architect from the Academy of Arts and the main designer of the products in A Circular Design Studio.
In addition, in his spare time he makes unique products, works of art and sculptures from 100% recycled plastic, typically from the remains from our production. The production of these works requires a great deal of patience, but we also believe that the results are worth the work.
The plastic is heated up several times and shaped by hand while it is still hot, or cut out of large solid blocks of plastic. The works focus on the organic transitions, contrasts and the living play that occurs during the uncontrolled confluence in the production process.
The works of art are completely unique in appearance, and you can thereby get a unique product, created from production residues that would otherwise simply have been destroyed.
Prices vary by size.

Sculptural design
The work of making sculptures is a familiar process, just with a new material.
In the initial process, we decide on the colors and density of the material.
The multi-colored sculptures are made from off-cuts from our own production and the color mix is therefore defined based on our other projects, the time we are in and the plastic we have collected at this particular time.
We then make solid castings, weighing up to 60kg and 20cm thick.
The castings take about 2 days to cool and from there the shaping is very much based on traditional working methods.
The sculptures are carved and carved out of the solid "block" with chisels and saws, as if it were a stone or a piece of wood we were working with.
After the initial shaping, the sculptures are sanded, polished or given the surface we think is suitable for the work.
All shaping and color mixing is done by hand, which also means that each sculpture is unique in form and expression.
We always have a selection of sculptures in stock, but otherwise this type of work can also be made to order, for example from your own or your company's plastic waste, thus giving new life to what would otherwise be wasted.

From Waste to Wonder
In the fall of 2023 , we developed a new type of work made from recycled plastic.
One of our goals has always been to increase the value of a waste material and if we can go from waste to a work of art, then we think we have come quite far.
The works consist of 384 blocks, divided into 48 castings, all varying by a few grams to provide the correct graduation.
After the work was assembled, we manually carved a pattern into the surface, so that the expression of the work changes depending on where you look at it from and how the light hits it. The inspiration for the work comes from the sea, its movements and the transition from the coast to the deep sea.
The works are made to order and can, for example, be made from your company's own plastic waste, thus completing the circle, from "Waste to Wonder"
